I bought this for my 14 year old daughter who said this iron would save her 30 minutes of work every morning as opposed to using her other cheaper iron. I searched for the best price for quite sometime as these retail for well over $100 and I am aware of the Chinese imitations being sold on the internet so I was skeptical of purchasing from the internet, but my cheap nature won out and I bought this one. My daughter loves it, it works like it is supposed to, which leads me to believe that it is a genuine Farouk CHI? Her hair looks the same to me as when she used her $20 iron, but she is able to sleep an extra 30 minutes on school days which means I can get an extra 30 minutes of sleep and still beat her to the shower before the hot water is used up and that 30 minutes is priceless!

I had purchased a cheap straightner and it was taking me on average 20 min to get my hair the way I wanted it, but with the Chi it now takes me about 10 mins tops. I can even do a quick run through after work and before we go out in just 5 mins because it heats up so quickly!! I love it and it has been a lifesaver for me!! Wonderful product!!

I bought this flat iron in January 2009. It stopped working in January 2010 (right after the one year warranty expired, natch). For the high price, I would expect higher quality. It didn't seem to work any better than the cheap flat iron I had before this one either, and the cheaper brand lasted longer. The chi flat iron was a complete ripoff.

I bought a flat iron from Farouk for my daughter two weeks before Christmas. She began to use it on December 26th. January 27th the iron surged with heat, burned my daughter's hair (so that she had to cut the fried hair off) then quit working all together. Farouk said they only guarantee their products for 30 days and too bad! They would not work with me at all to replace, refund or repair the iron. I will NEVER purchase from them again!
